Facts About The Black Cumin Seed.

The tangible miracle of black cumin

Black cumin seeds (Nigella sativa) have been used therapeutically for over 3,300 years, since their first reported discovery in Egyptian Pharoah Tutankhamun’s tomb. Part of the buttercup family, the seeds are dark, thin, and crescent-shaped when whole. The seeds have been used for many centuries in the Middle East, the Mediterranean and India. Today, black cumin seeds are used as a seasoning spice in different cuisines across the world due to their nutty flavor. Besides their culinary uses, black cumin seeds also have a wealth of important health benefits and are one of the most cherished medicinal seeds in history.

The seeds of the black cumin plant contain over 100 chemical compounds, including some yet to be identified. In addition to what is believed to be the primary active ingredient, crystalline nigellone, black cumin seeds contain: thymoquinone, beta sitosterol, myristic acid, palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, arachidonic acid, protein, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, folic acid, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, and phosphorous.
Black cumin seed is regarded throughout the entire Middle East as one of the most powerful anti-carcinogenic herbs ever in existence…

1 Cleopatra used it as a beauty treatment.

2 Queen Nefertiti used black seed oil to bring luster to her hair and nails.

3 Hippocrates used it to cure digestive and metabolic disorders.

4 The Prophet Muhammad called it “a remedy for every illness except death.”

5 Archaeologists even confirmed King Tut kept a bottle of black cumin seed oil in his tomb –for use in the after

Black cumin is also called Habbatul barakah, meaning “seed of blessing.” One of black cumin's most popular and effective uses is the treatment of diseases related to the respiratory system: including asthma, bronchitis, rheumatism and cold symptoms. The seeds help increase body tone, stimulate menstrual period, and increase the flow of breast milk in nursing mothers.
Black cumin seed oil helps calm the nervous system, quells colic pain, stimulates urine production, helps treat pertussis, improves digestion and helps prevent and lower high blood pressure.
The seeds are very effective in curing abscesses and tumors of the eye, abdomen and liver, probably due in great part to the anti-tumor compound beta-sitosterol found in the seeds.

Black cumin also:

*stimulates energy and helps in recovery from fatigue and low spirits.

*is an effective cure for skin conditions such as allergies, eczema, acne, psoriasis and boils.

*is anti-parasitic.

*treats flatulence, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, constipation and dysentery.

Black cumin also assists in the decrease of blood cholesterol – preventing formation of dangerous atherosclerotic plaque, as well as preventing development of inflammatory elements in the overall cardiovascular system. Additionally, black cumin has been used for tachycardia, bradycardia, hypotension, hypertension, as well as other various heart diseases.

Becoming a Good Muslim Husband Part 1.

Becoming a Good Muslim Husband Part 1.

Being a good spouse is important in any marriage. Marriage should be a complete partnership where two people who join together should always aim to give, and not take - and strive to always better themselves for their other half.

Prophet Muhammad ( ﺻﻠﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ) said, “the best amongst you are the ones who are best to their wives.” So dear Muslim brother! Your obligations towards your wife are not limited to earning money and supporting her financially. A wife needs love from her husband, and emotional support too!

Always emulate the behavior of the Prophet Muhammad [ ﺻﻠﯽ ﺍﻟﻠﮧ ﻋﻠﯿﮧ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ] with his wives:

Allah says in the Qur'an: "You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah, a beautiful example (of conduct) for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who remembers Allah much." [Qur'an - 33:21]
The Prophet Muhammad [ ﺻﻠﯽ ﺍﻟﻠﮧ ﻋﻠﯿﮧ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ] overlooked his wives' shortcomings, and tolerated their unreasonable behavior. The books of ahadith are replete with examples of how he ignored what he did not like about their actions, with a smile and patient silence.

Once, when he became very angry with all of them, he left their company and resolved not to talk to them for a month.
Instead of shouting or verbally reprimanding your wife for every mistake, just ignore her. If she is fighting with you or being unreasonable, you can always leave the room and not answer back, which is the best strategy. When you will ignore her for some time, she will willingly relinquish the behavior which angered you.

Treat her with respect, especially during intimacy :

Sexual gratification is the foremost reason why men get married, and they make serious mistakes right in the beginning, which cause the greatest blows to their marital relationship. Muslim men should fear Allah regarding how they handle their wives during intimacy.
Narrated Jabir Bin Abdullah [may Allah be pleased with him], "The Prophet [ ﺻﻠﯽ ﺍﻟﻠﮧ ﻋﻠﯿﮧ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ] did not allow sexual intercourse before fondling (the wife)." [ Abu Dawood ]
It is a sad fact that nowadays, when a man gets married, he has already seen a lot of porn or sexually graphic movie scenes, courtesy the different forms of media available to him to satisfy his curiosity, which poison his mind about how to treat a woman, much before he actually brings home a wife.

O Muslim Brother! That innocent girl you bring home has no affinity to that sultry siren you've watched on TV - she's vulnerable, innocent and scared. So be gentle and get her to relax, and don't cause any irreparable damage by being hasty. In Islam, a woman is a jewel -- a gem, which should be taken care of and treated with dignity and respect.
Imam al-Daylami [may Allah be merciful on him] records a narration on the authority of Anas ibn Malik [may Allah be pleased with him] that the Messenger of Allah [ ﺻﻠﯽ ﺍﻟﻠﮧ ﻋﻠﯿﮧ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ] is reported to have said: "One of you should not fulfill one's (sexual) need from one's wife like an animal, rather there should be, between them, foreplay of kissing and words."
[Musnad Al-Firdaws of Al-Daylami , 2/55]
The good Muslim husband should, therefore, forget the marketing policies of Hugh Hefner's multimillion-dollar, testosterone-driven industry and focus on the advice of Prophet Muhammad [ ﺻﻠﯽ ﺍﻟﻠﮧ ﻋﻠﯿﮧ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ]. Movies and romance novels are not the sources from which you should be drawing instructions for intimacy. Also, you as a Muslim should learn to respect women in general, before you get married.

Remember that when a prostitute came to ask Allah's Messenger [ ﺻﻠﯽ ﺍﻟﻠﮧ ﻋﻠﯿﮧ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ] for monetary help, he helped her and did not treat her disrespectfully. What about you? Have there been times when you have seen or met a woman who tempted you, and you thought: "slut", or "whore"? Have you ever verbally or mentally used abusive words, such as "bitch", for any woman? Do you believe, due to your cultural baggage, that women are inherently evil; that Eve tempted Adam to eat the forbidden fruit, that women should be locked up inside the house because they lead men astray when they go out? Do you believe that women are inferior to men? Do you believe that women are the basic cause of the prevalence of decadence and sin? Do you shout at your mother and sister for not serving you your food or coffee when you ask for it? If so, you really need to change your thinking and attitude towards women before you enter marriage, because a man, who has truly grasped the essence of Islamic teachings regarding the kind treatment of women, will never, ever answer the above questions in the affirmative. And if he does, it is highly likely that he will disrespect his wife, and not be able to keep her happy.

Maintain personal grooming and hygiene:

Once every two weeks, trim, shave or clip anything that grows on your body. Keep your hair and beard washed and combed -- smelling and looking clean.
Use the siwak (tooth-stick), floss, toothpaste, mouth-spray or mouthwash to maintain oral hygiene. Shower daily and use deodorantsor other strong fragrance to smell good at home, not just at the Jum'uah or Eid congregation.
Remember that doing all this is the sunnah (way) of the Prophet Muhammad [ ﺻﻠﯽ ﺍﻟﻠﮧ ﻋﻠﯿﮧ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ], who abhorred any kind of body odour (mouth, armpit or foot) emanating from himself. Wear the colors and clothing styles that your wife prefers, if Islam permits them.

Your wife is a consultant, not a personal valet or slave :

The foremost quality which Muslim men desire in a wife, after beauty and physical attractiveness, is that she be obedient and servile, and that she do their chores without being told e.g. ironing their clothes, cooking their meals, or doing the laundry.
However, it is a fact that there is a difference of opinion among Islamic scholars regarding whether it is obligatory or preferred ( mustahab ) for a wife to serve her husband. Majority declare it to be praiseworthy but not obligatory, even though most Muslim women happily do their household work themselves, without being asked.

The Prophet Muhammad [ ﺻﻠﯽ ﺍﻟﻠﮧ ﻋﻠﯿﮧ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ] did his personal chores himself, and we do not know of any ahadith in which his wives were known to serve him elaborately. Therefore, the good Muslim husband truly appreciates the work his wife does around the house. If she forgets something, he overlooks it and remains silent. He also consults her in important matters before making the final decision e.g. naming their children, changing his job, making an investment, going on a trip, having his family members move in, or in even small matters such as what she'd like to order for herself when they eat out at a restaurant. He never overlooks her say in these matters.

Take care of her during her pregnancy and breastfeeding :

Unmarried men usually have no idea of the tremendous physical pain that Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam. They find this out after marriage, when they witness their wife going through monthly cramps, or the rigors of pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. If nothing more, it should increase their respect for women in general.
However, some married Muslim men stay out late at night with friends, at clubs, restaurants, games or the movies, while their pregnant or newly-mother wife stays at home with the baby. They hand over the responsibility of taking care of her to their mothers or sisters. This behavior is inappropriate, and it will cause hatred to develop in the wife's heart.
The good Muslim husband offers extra moral and physical support to his wife during these difficult phases in her life. Don't feel your manly ego busted if you have to give the baby its bottle or pacify it, while your wife attends to an older child or her own genuine needs. The Muslim husband is a doting and hands-on father; and this attribute makes his wife love him even more!

Help her out in the household work :

Occasionally washing the dishes, vacuuming the carpets, making your own breakfast or tea (especially if your wife is asleep or not well), or cooking a simple meal will raise your status in your wife's eyes and increase love for you in her heart.
Contrary to what Asian culture dictates, a man doesn't become effeminate by doing household chores. He, in fact, becomes more manly and attractive to his spouse.
It goes without saying that chores such as getting groceries on the weekend, taking your wife to her doctor, fixing the faucet or mowing the lawn should also be taken care of by you.

Top tips 05 to make the most of your weekends!

Top tips 05 to make the most of your weekends

Your weekends are precious — you'll want to make the most of them. You’ve probably worked all week with one target in mind — getting to the weekend and then doing something useful with it! Yet often when you actually reach the weekend, it tends to fizzle out and not quite live up to your expectations.

The following top 05 tips aim to help you make the most of your weekends — so that by the time Monday comes, you’ll feel refreshed, on top of things, and fulfilled about what you’ve done in your time off.

#1 Increase Your Worship

Free time at the weekend is a blessing. We all would love more free time. A secret of the pious is that whenever they want to increase a blessing they give shukr for it, due to Allah’s (glorified and exalted be He) promise in the Qur’an:
‘If you are grateful to Me, I shall certainly increase you (in favour).’ [Quran: Chapter 14, Verse 7]
What better way to give thanks for our free time than to increase our worship in it? Through this, inshaAllah, we will be blessed with more quality time. Throughout the week we may skip our Sunnas, read very little Qur’an and have poor concentration in salah. Now we’ve hit the weekend, let’s make up for lost ground.

#2 Visiting Family

Living in Leicester, a city where hundreds of Muslims migrate to for the Islamic environment, it can be exasperating trying to find your friends in the weekend. Why? They’re busy travelling to Preston, Bolton, and London or across the city visiting relatives The weekend is the traditional time for Muslims, especially in the West, where families tend to be dispersed, to visit in-laws, parents, siblings and call relatives back in the Muslim heartlands. And such customs are excellent Q2 habits to maintain as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) informed us:
‘Anyone who desires the expansion of his provision or to have the best of his life prolonged, should maintain ties of kinship.” [Al Adab Al Mufrad]

#3 Spending Quality Leisure Time with One’s Spouse and Children

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) urged us in the most unequivocal words to take care of our families:
“The best of you are those who are the best to their families, and I am the best to my family” [Ibn Majah].
As a teacher, I’ve seen the terrible consequences of ‘absentee fathers’ who work long shifts at the weekend, sometimes living for long stretches abroad, spending hardly any time with their kids. It doesn’t matter how long one’s beard is or how outwardly pious you may look, if you’re not spending quality time with your children – especially if they are in their teens – then don’t be surprised if they start acting up in all sorts of un-Islamic ways.
Boys in particular, in our times, need strong male role models if they are to avoid succumbing to a myriad of dangerous temptations. Activities with family and children should be varied and stimulating. Regular trips to museums, exhibitions or shared outdoor adventures can create immense bonding, revive spirits and provide cherished memories to last a lifetime. Such outings help refine teenagers, cushioning them away from the worryingly prevalent ‘rude boy’ or gangster culture which tends to attract a lot of Muslim youth.

#4 Studying Islam and Attending Gatherings of the Pious

Alhamdulillah, there is an abundance of courses, ranging from one-day conferences to 5 year alimiyya’ programmes, locally, nationally and online, that can be undertaken solely on weekends. Also, any other gatherings of the ‘ulama or pious for the sake of learning sacred knowledge or remembrance of Allah are ‘groves of Paradise’ which should be attended as much as possible: “No people sit remembering Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, without the angels surrounding them and mercy covering them and tranquillity descending on them and Allah mentioning them to those who are with Him.” [Ibn Majah]
I personally have come across dedicated students who, through their hard work at weekends, have learned Arabic to a high level, some graduating to scholarly levels. May Allah (glorified and exalted be He) grant us such aspiration and inspire us to put in the time.

# 5 Wholesome Recreation

The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) and his Companions (may Allāh be pleased with them) were incredibly fit. Even a cursory browse of some of the accounts of their military campaigns, shows an astonishing level of physical endurance. Similarly, we often read about the well known sacrifices of scholars from the early generations, such as Imam al-Bukhari or Baqiyy ibn Makhlad and countless others, who thought nothing of walking thousands of miles to learn hadith. Aside from the stirring example of dedication to knowledge, these great men must have been at a high level of health to undertake such lengthy journeys – in an age well before modern transport or advances in medicine. Life in those times involved daily physical exertion – more than even daily trips to the gym would provide – and kept people healthy.

SURATUL FATIHAH: "MOTHER Of QURAN"

THE THEME OF SURATUL FATIHAH

Sūrah al-Fātiḥah is described as the 'Mother of the Qur'an' and the 'Seven oft-repeated verses'. It is recited in every unit of every prayer. It is one of the chapters of the Qur'an that we memorised as children and one of the chapters that we will teach to our children. But just what makes this chapter so important? From the 114 chapters of the Qur'an, why is this the first chapter? What makes it so special? What is the message of this chapter?

Each and every one of the 114 chapters of the Qur'an has a single theme and subject. Every topic within that chapter will then relate to that single theme. So what is the theme of Sūrah al-Fātiḥah?

Overview

The theme of this chapter covers the basic tenets of Islam, being; belief in Allah (swt), following the Prophet Muhammad and the purification of the soul and exalted character that those principles should bring about. In many ways, Sūrah al-Fātiḥah is a summary of the main themes of the Qur'an. The scholars have mentioned that the Qur'an is broadly divided into 3 main themes. A third of the Qur'an speaks about Allah , a third about the Prophets and past nations, and a third about the halal and haram.

To know Allah

Let us analyse Sūrah al-Fātiḥah. Allah dedicates the first three verses of this chapter to speaking about Himself. Allah mentions His lordship, His creation, His power, His Names and His Attributes. Allah (swt) says in the first three verses, “All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all that exists. The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. Owner of the Day of Judgement.”

All three of these verses are dedicated to increasing our knowledge of Allah , because through the increase in knowledge we increase in our love, devotion and submission to Allah . It is human nature to learn about what we love most, and to love what we know most about. It is for this reason that we often love our parents, spouses and children most. We often love and are patriotic to our countries as they are most familiar to us. In terms of food, we often rate our own cuisine as most beloved to us as we've known it longest. Yet as Muslims, our love for Allah should far outstrip all of the above. Indeed, this is a claim we often make, and for the most part sincerely. But in reality, and after deep thought, the question arises, what and how much do we know about Allah ?

Allah wants us to learn about Him and thereby come closer to Him. This is why Allah praises the scholars in the Qur'an, “Indeed only the scholars truly fear Allah”. This is because their knowledge of Allah,His names, attributes, power and abilities increases them in piety and righteousness. It is for this reason that most of the passages and chapters of the Qur'an which have added virtues relate to Allah . Look at Āyat al-Kursī, the last two verses of Baqarah, Sūrah al-Ikhlāṣ, Sūrahs Falaq and Nās, all of them speak about Allah.

The pinnacle and height of that knowledge is to understand Tawḥīd; the abilities of Allah which make Him alone worthy of all worship, and to seek nearness to Him by knowing, understanding and living by His names and attributes. Allah shows this in verse number 4 of Sūrah al-Fātiḥah, “You alone do we worship and from You alone do we seek assistance”.

To follow the Prophet

Allah then speaks about the second principle of Islam; to follow the Prophet. This too requires knowledge and learning about the Prophet , his life, character, sacrifices and way, as only through this can we increase on our love for him. That increase in love will then spur us into emulating him and clinging to his example. For this reason, Sūrah al-Fātiḥah only consists of one duʿā', a duʿā' which we make at least 17 times a day, “Guide us to the Straight Path”. The straight path is the path of the Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah. A third of the Qur'an reminds us of the stories of the past Prophets and nations so that we may take heed from them. It is warning to not fall into the same errors as those nations who rejected their Prophets and a glimpse into the delight awaiting those who do follow them. The Prophet Muhammad is the best of the Prophets, and for us the best example to follow.

Halāl and Harām

Adhering to these first two principles; love and submission to Allah and love and following the Prophet Muhammad leads to a better character, a purer heart and soul and a greater example for others. These are the people who adhere to the commandments of Allah and stay away from His prohibitions, to which the third category of the Qur'an is dedicated; the ḥalāl and ḥarām. The results of doing this is attaining Allah's favour, grace and blessings, whereas the results of turning away from this path is misguidance and Allah's wrath and anger. Allah says in the final verse of Sūrah al-Fātiḥah, “The path of those whom You have favoured, not those who have earned Your anger nor those who are misguided”.

Conclusion

Thus the beauty and message of Sūrah al-Fātiḥah is the comprehensive summary of the message of the Qur'an. Each and every time we recite Sūrah al-Fātiḥah, whether in or out of the prayer, it should be a reminder of these three core principles of Islam, for which the Qur'an was revealed and the Prophet Muhammad sent.

Learning From our Children!

Learning From our Children!
Source: IslamicOccasions.Com

We can learn so much from children. And most of us have the good fortune to get to be closely reacquainted with the magic of childhood twenty or thirty years after we were children. If our children then have children, we get another lesson some years further down the track. It would seem that many parents see the teaching process as a one way street. Parents can also do well to spend more time learning from their children and less time teaching.

Children know a lot more about having a good time than most adults. Children know how to laugh. They don't need much to laugh at. Sometimes they don't need anything at all. They laugh because it feels good. Did you get your quota of laughs today?
They are delightfully spontaneous. Children don't analyse and work everything out. They are just busy "being". Whatever we meet grown ups who are so spontaneous, we tend to treasure them also. Let's do less thinking and more responding.
Children are eternally fascinated. They are curious. Everything is a new exciting experience, to be absorbed. Adults switched off. Many of us have forgotten what a magic place this planet is.

Children are also very accepting. They are without prejudice . Rich or poor or black or white, you are OK. A child is not your religion or your politics.
Kids have enormous resilience and determination. If they want, they don't quit. Their persistence is really something to be admired, as well as endured. Children just keep going for it. When you learned to walk, you kept at it and kept at it. You fall over and got up. Finally you learned to walk! Do you still exhibit that kind of determination?
In a nutshell - Spend time with children. Learn more about laughter, spontaneity, curiosity, acceptance, resilience, trust, determination, and your imagination. They are here to teach us!

"He that seeks guidance, shall be guided to his own advantage, but he that goes astray does so to his own loss. No bearer shall bear the burden of another on the Day of Judgment. And during your worldly life, We do not inflict punishment until We send forth a Messenger to make truth distinct from falsehood." Noble Qur'an (17:15)
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, "No babe is born but upon Fitra (as a Muslim). It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Polytheist."
When a child is born; regardless of whether it is a female or a male, white or black or red, American or African or Chinese or Indian or Arab, regardless of whether he/she is rich or poor, son/daughter of a president or of a Shepherd, or whatever the case is; every child is born with such a high NOBLE characters!

Everyone of us has experienced the Noble characters, like the characters of the Saints! But what are some of those characters and what has turned us away from such a high profile?
When we study some main characteristics of the infants, we find their similarities in the Noble people (Saints). If we try to implement such qualities, we should be able to return to our original state. Some of those qualities, we find, are:

Closeness to their Nature - They like Milk, not alcohol!

Consciousness of Allah (SWT) - Being in the womb was perhaps among the best times we ever had. A child is so much in conscious of Allah that when he/she come into this world, child starts to cry! "...Beware! It is the remembrance of Allah which provides tranquility to the hearts." Noble Qur'an (13:28)

Pure hearts - Sinless hearts are pure hearts. When we repent and do good actions, Allah (SWT) erases our sins and makes our heart bright.

Seclusion (being alone) - Babies in the wombs are alone, away from this material world and its thoughts. A person who remembers Allah (SWT) in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with tears will be under the shade of Allah, on the day of Qayyamah. We should try to spend some time with our Lord, especially at nights when no one is near us, and remember and thank Him for His favours and ask forgiveness for our sins.

Meditation - I believe, babies do meditate, if they don't, how else would they learn this world? Let you observe how they meditate...

Observes Silence - They speak as much as it is necessary to speak (babies cry when they need to cry, perhaps not always :)

No Anger in them - I don't know if any infant child knows what ' anger ' is like.

No Worries - "Be aware! The friend of Allah (SWT) has nothing to fear or to regret." Noble Qur'an (10:62) Food is predestined! If Allah is with the believers, why worry then? Smile

Above mentioned are some qualities (there could be more) that we can find in infants, as well as, in an actual Muslim (the Prophets are our role-model). If we implement these qualities, Insha Allah, we will be able to easily and fully follow our Deen: Al-Islam (with its requirements); since if the roots are getting enough nutrition's, the plant grows easily, quickly and properly!
